In a unexpected partnership that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Revealed

According to the authorized statement, "A mysterious meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where whispers of banned rituals and monstrous changes echo through the darkness." The storyline features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a hidden sect.

The questline focuses on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Familiar Places and Transformations

The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, probably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Items and Additional Material

Players who finish the quest will acquire an special katana in addition to numerous items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
