Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with deep backstory, a colorful mix of heroes, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, fiends, and dark forces growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Revealing details for Episode 3 of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and presented the premier party of characters who will separate from the main group to embark on their own adventure, separate from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Considering an extensive roster, it was evident from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
That’s why, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might appear unsuited, but the actions of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
Casimir of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—used the enemy for his own means, entering the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and swiping all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The traitor then settled his obligations and ran away to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a individual motive to leave the city the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan knows the northern area and cautions that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The healer, having resisted his family’s wishes to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their position as important members in House Halovar could enable the group enter locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The target is wanted dead by the family.
This means them no alternative but to travel to Timmony in pursuit of the antagonist.
Future Episodes
From episode three’s follow-up content, we learn that the combat party will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the participants to assemble the Explorers and Planners groups.
Fans can look forward to finding out which characters will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on the upcoming Thursday.
